  • Relatively common cause of mediastinal widening due to increased deposition of unencapsulated normal fat in the mediastinum
  • Benign condition
  • Most often associated with
    • Iatrogenic steroid administration
    • Cushing’s syndrome
    • Simple obesity
  • Usually seen in adults
